Howdy folks, well over the the past few months i have had a keen interest on WW2 Flight simulators, the
ones i own right now are:
Microsoft combat simulator 3
Ubi-soft IL-2 Sturmovik
Ubi-Soft IL-2 Sturmovik 1946 "DVD version"
There's a BIG difference between the two games, mainly on ground terrian,IL-2 is just plain
fantastic,BUT Combat simulator-3 the overall terrain is just plain awful when compared too IL-2 BUT the overall grafics of
both simulators
in regard to the grafics of the Planes in both are just plain wild,i find the planes a tad bit more
easy to control in Combat simulator-3 versus IL-2,but IL-2 sets the standard for such simulations, you just can't beat IL-2,it
just plain rocks!
I have also noticed in IL-2 you can see armor ( tanks, trucks,AAA )on the ground much
more easy then in SIM-3,BUT in SIM-3 the armour is pointed out to you, label'ed and all, where with IL-2 you HAVE to know the
differance between whats freind or foe.
Your best defence is make a very fast run towards the armour on the ground, and see if they
start too fire back, but what ever you do watch for AAA or you butt well be toast fast.
IL-2 1946 which is in my mind,is certinally worth the $$$ to buy,the graffics are even more
mind blowing,i thought IL-2 was wild,IL-2 1946 which also has all other versions including:
Pacific fighters
Forgotten battles, just to name a few, even the battle of midway is included, thats way cool, and
with more planes at your fingertips, what more could you ask for? the next version of the game, which is hitting shelves
SOON!
Needless to say,i well certinally keeping my eyes open..LOL
